Actor Prithviraj who is edging to the throne of super stardom with the push he got with solo hit Puthiyamugham is teaming up with the most promising malayalam director in his new film Anwar. This is first time Amal Neerad and Prithviraj teams up, as Amal had taken movies only with superstars. Amal who is applauded for his narrative style and technical finesse presents a debutant cameraman Satheesh Kurup. The music for the film is by his friend Gopi Sundar. Mamtha, Prakash Raj, Lal are in the movie in supporting roles. Actress Mamta Mohandas has been cast opposite Prithviraj for the first time. This will be her film after Passenger. The movie is produced by Rajesh Zacharias under the banner Red Carpet Films. Amal is collaborating with R. Unni for scripting the movie as in his debut malayalam film Big B.

Amal Neerad has clearly stated that this film will lack the starry presence that his earlier films were full of. He spoke about how his previous films starred Malayalam superstars, Mohanlal and Mammootty. However, Anwar will be different. According to him, Anwar will focus more on the characters in the film than the star playing it. The film is a take on the emotional aspect of terrorism. It also tries to determine the right and the wrong of it all. The posters reveal Prithvi in a new outlook though it resembles the character in the famous pc game ‘Assassin’s Creed’. The film is expected to have an excellent cinematography and related technical aspects. It will go on floors in March at Kochi and Bangalore and will be ready for release by July.

As a director his debut film was BigB which was a visual fascination in malayalam cinema marked by his own cinematography. His second film was Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded which was yet another glamour in Malayalam. His diploma films Fourth World and Meena Jha received great appreciation in film festivals. He is known as the director who specializes in creating the most stylish appearances and presentations.
