International Short Film Festival of India 2010

[caption id="attachment_563" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Short Film Festival"][/caption] DBICA  is gearing up for the 4th International Short Film Festival of India, which is scheduled to be held on the 20th and 21st of March 2010 at Albert Theaters, Chennai.  Plans and preparations are in full swing to invite more entries from all over the world, and to make this festival the largest and most highly attended short film festival in Chennai. With the patronage of Department of Information and broadcasting and with a very good collaboration from more than 15 colleges, media institutes and organizations ISFFI 2010 is expected to make more impact and reach out to a great number of film lovers offering the Chennaites the best of World’s Short film cinema.
DBICA invites entries for the 4th International Short Film Festival of India 2010
We encourage submissions on a variety of themes belonging to alternate genres and narrative styles. We are committed to good cinema-- it matters little to us whether your film is a documentary, narrative or an animation. We simply love good films! ISFFI is open to all film makers around the world.

Submissions can be under 2 categories:
Short-shorts [20 minutes or under]
Shorts [40 minutes or under]
The festival aims to foster a creative environment for film makers worldwide showcasing their works in front of media institutions and the general public. A panel of judges will choose the best film in each category and Awards will be given. There are also a special awards based on the audience’s selection of their favourite short films.

Rules and Regulations
  • By submitting this film to ISFFI, you are declaring that you have the legal right to do so and absolve ISFFI from any copyright/ intellectual right violation. The DVD’s will not be returned in the normal course.
  • While films belonging to most genres are welcome, we DO NOT ACCEPT EROTIC FILMS OR FILMS THAT PORTRAY EXTREME CRUELTY TO HUMANS OR ANIMALS OR GORY FILMS.
  • The Final Deadline for RECEIVING the DVD in our office is 27 FEBRUARY 2010.
  • All entries should be sent ONLY BY POST. All postage costs and duties are responsibilities of the sender.
  • ISFFI is not responsible for loss or damage of the DVD. The preview copies will not be returned.
  • All films [other than English language] should be subtitled or dubbed into English.
  • A panel of judges shall select the best film in each category. In the event the panel does not find any film to have the required levels of artistic merit, it may decide not to grant awards in one or more categories. In all instances, the panel's decisions are final and no appeal in this regard shall be entertained.
  • Only one film should be included in a DVD. If you are submitting two or more films, they should be on separate DVDs and should have separate accompanying material.
  • Please label your DVD clearly with film name, run time, and contact details. Please DO NOT use stickers.
  • Please play your DVD on a stand-alone DVD player before mailing to us. Some DVDs which play well on the computer do not play well on stand alone DVD players.
  • By submitting the film to ISFFI, you are giving us the permission to exhibit it in one or more festival sites plus in all other promotional events including TV telecasting.
  • Only films under the short-short or short category should be submitted. Normally, we do NOT consider films longer than 40 minutes since our goal is to    show as many films during the festival as possible.
  • Due to the large number of entries expected, DBICA is not in a position to individually acknowledge the receipt of the DVDs. Please send your DVD by courier or "Registered Post Acknowledgement Due". In any case DBICA will confirm the receipt of the DVD by E-mail or by telephone.
  • TWO DVD copies for judging your film [in PAL or Universal Code] should be sent to the to following Address:
